After working as a foreign exchange writer specializing in central bank policies and macroeconomics, I moved to New York in 2005. While reporting from Wall Street, the front lines of finance and economics, I also published local insights on business, urban development, and culture on my blog, "My Big Apple NY."

I returned to Japan in 2015, where I served as a North American economics researcher at Mitsui & Co. Global Strategic Studies Institute and as a researcher on U.S. politics, economy, and economic security at Sojitz Research Institute. I currently hold my present positions.

I have appeared on TV programs such as NHK's "Sunday Debate" and TV Tokyo's "Morning Satellite," and have served as a commentator for Nikkei CNBC and Radio Nikkei. I also contribute columns to various media outlets.
